Do not impose your faith on others : Pope Francis’ useless advice to Christian religious leaders

Pope Francis

Jakarta (Indonesia) – “We must work against religious extremism. We should not impose our faith on others. Religious extremists have used deception and violence to change people’s faith,” said Pope Francis, the supreme leader of the Christianity, during his visit to Indonesia. He is currently on his longest 12-day Southeast Asia tour, where he will visit Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore.

In Jakarta, Indonesia, a nation with the largest Muslim population, the 87-year-old Pope addressed local Catholic Christians at the Presidential Palace. He stated,

1. The Catholic Church will promote interfaith dialogue to curb religious extremism. This can help eliminate prejudice and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. This is crucial to tackling challenges such as religious extremism and intolerance, which seek to impose beliefs through deception and violence.

2. Unfortunately, there are times when faith in God, instead of promoting peace, unity, dialogue, respect, cooperation, and fraternity, gets twisted into promoting division and hatred.

Editorial Perspectives

  • What do the Christian religious leaders, who entice Hindus with fake promises, criticise their faith, and corrupt their minds against their own religion to convert them to Christianity, have to say about this ?
  • Pope Francis should also clarify what punishment he plans to give to those Christian religious leaders who have forced Christianity upon Hindus and converted millions of them.
  • On 24thJanuary 2015, Pope Francis tweeted that social service is the best medium for conversions. Now, he says this. Doesn’t this show his hypocrisy ?
