Bangladesh : Hindu woman, a victim of gang rape, did not file a complaint out of fear

Incident in Satkhira, Bangladesh

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – A Hindu woman was gang-raped by Muslim fanatics in Satkhira District of Bangladesh on 5th August in the jurisdiction of Tala Police Station. This information was shared by Adv. (HH) Ravindra Ghosh, President of Bangladesh Minority Watch, an organisation fighting for the human rights of minorities in Bangladesh. When he informed the local Superintendent of Police about the incident and enquired whether a complaint had been filed regarding the matter, the Superintendent of Police said that no such incident had been reported. This incident was in fact reported in the local daily ‘Kalbela’. Bangladesh Minority Watch told the correspondent of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ that the victim did not inform the Police about the incident due to fear of the rapists.

In another incident in Patuakhali District, Asim Das was forced out of his house, which was then set on fire !

Out of fear for his life, Das fled to a distant place without filing a complaint with the Police !

In another incident that happened on 6th August in Patuakhali District in Bangladesh, the family of Asim Das was forced out of their house, which was then set on fire. H.H. (Adv.) Ravindra Ghosh contacted Pritam Saha, a member of the victim family, who started crying and explained that they fled to a distant place out of fear for their lives. When H.H. Ghosh asked the Superintendent of Police in Patuakhali about the incident, the latter replied that no complaint had been filed in this matter.

Editorial Perspective

This is the plight of Hindus in Islamic Bangladesh ! The Indian Government should put pressure on Bangladesh to protect the Hindus there, and Hindus in India should compel each MP and MLA in their constituencies to ensure that the Indian Government takes action !
