Serious threat to national security
Pune, Maharashtra – An Iranian family has been accused of holding fake Indian passport and retain their Iranian citizenship. The accusation is against the late owner, Abdul Hameed Zafri Naimee and his family. This revelation means a threat to national security. The Pune Police have started a thorough investigation in this case. Mustafa Zafri, son of late Zafri Naimee, has denied all the allegations. He said, “all the allegations are baseless. If there was any truth in it, the Police would have acted by now.” The complaint has been lodged by Sameer Mazumdar.
Espionage threat ?
Zafri Naimee has built a 14-storey building, next to Southern Military Command, a very sensitive defence area. This can be a serious espionage threat.
Suspicious death
On 29thOctober, Mazumdar had lodged a Police complaint at the Bund Garden Police Station. A few days later, on 1stNovember, Zafri Naimee died under suspicious circumstances. This murder appears to be a trick to dodge the Police and save the other culprits involved in the crime.
A senior officer who did not want to reveal his identity, informed that there are many such families and citizens from other countries living here, who have got fake documents to prove their Indian citizenship and possess Indian passports. There are many loopholes in the law which allow these people to stay in India and hide their original citizenship. (If this the case, action must be taken against those administrative officers and employees who issued such documents without checking the facts. – Editor)
We are still at the initial stage of investigations – Police
Muzumdar has accused the Bund Garden Police Station of not being serious about their duty. Despite the seriousness of the allegation, no police officer is ready to investigate the case. The Deputy commissioner of Police, Milind Mohite has said, “we know about the case. It has got many perspectives; we are at the initial stage of the investigation. (Considering the seriousness of the case, if the Police are still at the initial stage of investigation, is it not inaction on their part ? – Editor)
