New Delhi – “Farmers protested, and they became martyrs. Consequently, the Union Government had to withdraw the three agricultural laws. Similarly, now Muslims will have to come out on the streets and fight constitutionally for their rights,” said Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of the All India Imam Association, regarding the Waqf Board Amendment Bill.

Rashidi further said,

1. It is critical to understand Waqf. It is for the benefit of the Muslim community that the Government has constitutionally granted Muslims the right to Waqf. Right now, the Muslims are silent. Many of our properties are owned by the State Governments. They (Union Government) are concerned that if Muslims begin to demand their rights, things will change.

2. Ever since the Modi Government came to power, it has been presenting bills only to target Muslims. There is no talk about inflation and unemployment. The Hindus who have voted for the BJP should also think. What this Government is going to do with us ? The BJP is taking the country towards another partition. (Hindus, note this threat from the religious fanatics – Editor).

Editorial Perspective

The Waqf Board Act protects Waqf lands and also allows grabbing other lands by the Waqf Board. Muslim organisations which are supporting this should be banned and their leaders must be imprisoned.
