Ranchi (Jharkhand) – The cabinet of the newly elected Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Government was expanded. 11 Ministers including former Chief Minister Champai Soren were sworn in at the swearing in ceremony. On this occasion, Minister Hafizul Hasan quoted the first verse of the Quran ‘Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim’ while taking the oath, and even disrespected the national anthem. BJP has raised objections on this. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of BJP-ruled Assam has also criticised this incident.

Found fixing dress during the national anthem
Hafizul Hasan was fixing the scarf around his neck as the national anthem was played during the swearing-in ceremony. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. He is being criticised for this behaviour.
BJP demands to retake oath
Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri and BJP’s Chief Whip (Party Leader in Legislature) Biranchi Narayan have submitted a memorandum to the Governor requesting to re-administer the oath to Hafizul Hasan. Amar Bauri said that the religious theme added by Hafizul Hasan during the swearing-in ceremony is completely wrong. Our Constitution does not permit such a thing. What is going on in the country ? Earlier, while taking oath in Parliament, one of the MPs raised a slogan on Palestine and now everyone knows that this behaviour about the national anthem is not appropriate.
Congress backs Hafizul Hasan
Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha said that India is a secular country. The greatest beauty of India is that all religions are respected here. If one belongs to Sanatan Dharma, he swears in the name of Hindu Deities, if one follows Islam, he swears in the name of Allah. What’s the big deal ? BJP has no point and its frustration is evident. BJP is doing nothing but politics. (This once again shows the pro-Muslim mindset of Congress. Even if a Muslim minister says ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ tomorrow, the Congress will support it ! – Editor)
Oath taken by Hasan is anti-constitutional !
Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X and said, ‘Do ministers in Jharkhand State take oath in this way ? We will not sit idle’. Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri has requested the Honourable Governor not to allow Hafizul Hasan to accept the charge as his oath is illegal and against the constitution.
BJP is deliberately making an issue, Hafizul Hasan says
Hafizul Hasan explained that he had taken an oath in the name of Allah twice in the past when he was a minister, but now BJP has no point left. Thus, it is making this an issue. Ever since Hemant Soren came out of jail, BJP is disturbed. Whenever the Governor writes something, he writes ‘Om’ at the top of the paper. This should not be made a political issue.
Editorial Perspective
No matter how high position the Muslims reach, they never think about secularism, but only about their own religion, while Hindus remain ‘secular’ and even hesitate to call themselves ‘Hindu’ ! |
