1. On 23rdJune, Shahzad Shaikh entered the house of a Hindu woman in broad daylight on the pretext of asking for a change and molested her. To save herself, the victim took shelter in the local Shiva temple.
2. Then 100 to 150 Muslims entered the temple premises and asked the victim to come out. When she refused to come out, all of them entered the temple without taking off their footwear and threatened.
3. It was alleged in the memorandum that due to this incident, the sanctity of the Hindu temple has been denigrated leading to the rise of communal tension. This has created a sense of insecurity and anger in the Hindu community.
4. The religious fanatics and local political office bearers had put pressure on the Police to save the accused. The Police registered a case and arrested the accused, but his immediate release on bail has led to the outrage among Hindu community.
5. The Police should register a case against the culprits and take action against other jihadi leaders. Strict steps should be taken to prevent such incidents in future. Vijay Tripathi of Sakal Hindu Samaj has warned of strong protests if immediate action is not taken in this regard.
