Ukraine claims to have destroyed Russia’s S-500 missile system

Kyiv (Ukraine) – The Ukrainian military claims to have destroyed Russia’s advanced S-500 air defence missile system using the US-supplied Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS). Ukrainian journalist Andrii Zhulenko shared this information on his Telegram channel. Each tactical missile is estimated to cost approximately Rs 5,000 crore. The S-500 is a surface-to-air missile system. India has purchased the S-400 system from Russia. If the S-500 system is indeed vulnerable, it raises security considerations for India as well.
