Cricket a religion for India, Jihad for Pakistan : Advocate Vineet Jindal, High and Supreme Court

Vaishvik Hindu Rashtra Mahotsav (2024) : Court Battles of Lawyers

Advocate Vineet Jindal, High and Supreme Court

Cricket is played as a sport in India, but a Pakistan-India match is like a war for Pakistanis. Former Pakistan cricket captain and former Prime Minister Imran Khan had said, cricket will be the game for India, but for us it is Jihad. This means that Cricket Jihad exists in the world, said Vineet Jindal, Advocate in the High and Supreme Court, while speaking on the topic of Judicial work against Cricket Jihad, on the sixth day of the Vaishvik Hindu Rashtra Mahotsav.

Elaborating on cricket jihad, advocate Vineet Jindal said, “After Pakistan won the India-Pakistan hockey match in 1978, its players performed mass namaz on the field and exclaimed that we beat the Hindus. Recently, a Pakistani batsman dedicated his century to Palestine. Also, famous West Indian batsman Brian Lara was asked to embrace Islam by a Pakistani player. In this way, Pakistan is continuously encouraging cricket jihad. Cricket has become so commercialized that the ICC is completely ignoring this Jihad. I have corresponded with the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the ICC to stop this jihad.”

In 2023, Pakistani commentator Zainab Abbas came to India for the World Cup match. At that time she had made derogatory remarks against Hindu Gods and Sachin Tendulkar. I filed a cyber complaint against that in Delhi. After that, Zainab fled to Dubai in fear. At that time, a cricket player had offered Namaz on the field. Even though it is un-Islamic to pray with shoes, his co-religionists ignored it. Advocate Vineet Jindal said that the sole reason for offering Namaz on the cricket field is to propagate Islam.
