MVA candidates win due to Muslim votes in Mumbai

Mumbai – In Mumbai’s 4 Lok Sabha constituencies, namely South Mumbai, North-East Mumbai, South-Central Mumbai and North-Central Mumbai, the Muslim votes harmed the ruling Mahayuti. Candidates from Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) won these 4 seats in Mumbai due to Muslim votes. Out of 6 seats in Mumbai, Mahayuti could win only 2.

1. In South-Central Mumbai, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s party candidate Anil Desai got a lead of 29,000 votes from Muslim dominated Anushaktinagar and a lead of 9,312 votes in Sion-Koliwada constituency.

2. In Mumbai South constituency, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s party candidate Arvind Sawant got a lead of 40,000 votes from Muslim-majority Mumbadevi area and a lead of 46,000 votes from Byculla. Arvind Sawant won by 53,000 votes.

3. In Mumbai North-East Constituency, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s party candidate Sanjay Dina Patil got a lead in Gujarati dominated Mulund and Ghatkopar(W), while in Mankhurd-Shivajinagar, a Muslim-majority area, he got a lead of 87,971 votes. Patil won by 29,861 votes.

4. BJP candidate Ujjwal Nikam got a lead of 58,000 votes in the North-Central Mumbai constituency, while Congress candidate Varsha Gaikwad got a lead of 74,000 votes from Muslim dominated Kurla, Chandivali, Bandra (E) and Kalina.
