More than 320 people died across 7 States in the country due to heatstroke

25 election workers died while performing their duty

New Delhi – Over 320 persons died due to heat and heatstroke in the last 4 days. 25 employees on election duty died due to heatstroke in one day.

1. 100 persons died in UP due to heat in the last 3 days. 63 died in Bihar in the last 2 days. 60 in Rajasthan, 37 in Jharkhand, 18 in Odisha, 2 in MP and one in Delhi died in the last 4 days.

2. In Jharkhand, 1,326 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals due to heatstroke. In many places, heatstroke wards are full.

3. Every day 5 times more dead bodies are arriving at Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi for cremation. Bihari Lal Gupta, General Secretary of the Mahasmashan Seva Samiti said the load had increased due to rising heat in the last 2 days. Dom raja (Keeper of the sacred fire) Om Chowdhari said that for the first time after the period of Corona pandemic, such large numbers came for cremation.

4. 21 unidentified dead bodies have been found, in the last 5 days in Ayodhya. It is said that they died due to heatstroke.
