Raped by making them woman unconscious using soft drink
New Delhi – A 25-year-old woman was raped by a rickshaw driver, Mohammad Omar, in the Geeta Colony area of Delhi. Omar drugged the woman who was traveling in his rickshaw before committing the crime. The Police have arrested Omar in connection with this case.
Police Commissioner (North Delhi) Manoj Kumar Meena stated that on 26th May, Kotwali Police station received a call regarding rape and robbery. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim injured and bleeding, with her three-year-old son by her side. The Police immediately admitted the woman to the hospital. During her medical examination, it was revealed that she was raped.
After the victim’s condition improved, she provided details to the Police. She explained that she was a resident of Bihar and was traveling to Punjab to meet her husband. On 26th May, she got off at New Delhi railway station and went to Sadar Bazar. While returning, she took an e-rickshaw. The rickshaw driver offered her a cold drink, which caused her to faint after drinking it. The accused then took her to a secluded area and raped her. When the woman regained consciousness and resisted, the accused hit her on the head with a brick to subdue her, causing her to lose consciousness again. Upon waking, she found that her mobile phone and 3,000 rupees in cash were missing.
Upon receiving the woman’s complaint, the Police initiated an investigation. They identified the e- rickshaw and after reviewing 500 CCTV footage clips, determined the identity of the accused as Mohammad Omar. Following this, the Police apprehended Omar. The investigation is ongoing as authorities gather more evidence in the case.
