Alleged that the doormat has a picture of the Kaaba on it

Balrampur (Uttar Pradesh) – On Friday (12th April), a mob attacked a shopping mart in the Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh, claiming that an image of the Kaaba in Mecca was on the doormat. This incident escalated tensions within the community. Subsequently, the mob raised incendiary slogans and pelted stones. However, a major untoward incident was averted due to the police’s proactive presence in the Muslim-dominated Utraula market. Police have filed a FIR against 50-60 unnamed assailants under Sections 143, 504, 506, 188, 341, 336, and 427 of the IPC, as well as section 7 of the Criminal Law Act of 1932. The miscreants in the mob are being identified using CCTV footage and other information.

1. On the 12th of April some Muslim youth went to a shopping mart. They alleged that there was a doormat with a picture of the Kaaba for sale.
2. The video that was circulated about the incident showed Muslim youths pressuring the shopping mart manager to show them the doormat.
3. Thereafter, the violent mob began throwing stones at the shopping mart. The fanatic mob tried to block the roads.
4. Realising the danger in this situation the manager of the shopping mart informed the Police station.
5. Police Station Inspector Sanjay Dubey and Sub-Inspector Kislay Mishra police reached the spot with personnel. The police tried to disperse the protesters and brought the situation under control.
