50 years after the agreement India hands over 56 acres of land to Bangladesh and receives 14 acres of land

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – India has handed over 56.86 acres of land of Ranishankoi sub-district of Thakurgaon border to Bangladesh. In response, India has also received 14.68 acres of land from Bangladesh. The land was exchanged in a flag meeting between BSF (Border Security Force) from India and BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) from Bangladesh. An agreement for land exchange was signed between India and Bangladesh in 1974, but no action was taken regarding Ranishankoi. In the land given by India, 48.12 acre is under agriculture, 6.87 acre is under tea-plantation and 1,87 acre is under cultivation.
