Exercise restraint and ensure civilians are not harmed in counter-terrorism efforts

USA warns Pakistan and Taliban !

Washington, USA – Reacting to Pakistan’s airstrikes in Afghanistan, the US has called on Taliban to ensure that terrorist attacks are not launched from Afghan soil while urging Islamabad to exercise restraint and ensure civilians are not harmed in their counter-terrorism efforts, US Department of State Principal Spokesperson Vedant Patel said on 19th March (IST). He stressed that the US remains committed to ensuring that Afghanistan does not become a safe haven for terrorists who wish to harm the US and its allies.

Do not hold Afghanistan responsible

The spokesperson for Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that Pakistan is continuously carrying out aggressive actions. Pakistan’s military is infiltrating into the border areas of Afghanistan and attacking our civilians.

Both countries accuse each other

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that in the past two years, we have repeatedly expressed serious concerns to the Afghan Government about the presence of terrorist groups, but it has not been acknowledged, and instead, attacks have been launched on our military posts. The Pakistani military has claimed that they are providing full cooperation and assistance to Afghanistan against terrorism.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Protection has stated that their security forces targeted the Pakistani military in border areas to respond to aerial attacks. We have summoned Pakistani officials to condemn these attacks. Pakistan is attempting to divert attention from its own mistakes by making such statements.
