Indian passport ranks 80th in the world

Pakistani passport ranks 101st, while Chinese passport ranks 62^nd

New Delhi – International Air Transport Association has published the ranking of passports of countries around the world. In this list, Japan, Singapore, Spain, France, Italy and Germany have made it to the top 6 countries in that order. India ranks 80 ^th while Pakistan ranks 101 ^st . China is ranked 62 ^nd . India was ranked 80^th in 2023 too; however, compared to last year, this year Indians will be able to travel to 5 more countries without a vis (a document that allows entry and stay in a country). In 2023, Indians could travel to 57 countries without a visa, while this year the figure has gone up to 62. Pakistanis can only travel to 34 countries without a visa.

It has been said that despite the war going on for almost 2 years, Ukraine’s passport is still stronger than Russia’s. Passport of Ukraine is ranked 32 ^nd . Its citizens can travel to 148 countries without a visa, while the Russian passport is ranked 51 ^st . Citizens of Russia can visit 119 countries without a visa. Israel’s passport is ranked 21 ^st .

How is the rating determined ?

Such ratings are announced twice a year by the International Air Transport Association. It is announced first in January and for the second time in July. The ranking is based on the number of countries a country’s passport holder can travel to, without a visa.
