Devotees in Houston (USA) hold car rally ahead of the consecration ceremony of Shriram in Ayodhya

Houston (USA) – There is excitement in not just India but across the globe regarding the consecration ceremony of Shriram in Ayodhya on 22nd January. Members of the Hindu American community organised a car rally chanting ‘Jai Shriram’ in Houston on 7th January. This rally visited 11 temples en route. More than 500 individuals participated in the rally carrying the Indian and US flags along with a photograph of the Shriram temple. There were 216 cars in this rally. The rally started from Shri Meenakshi temple after a local social worker Jugal Malani hoisted the flag. It concluded at the Shri Sharad Amba temple in Richmond.

An estimated 2500 devotees welcomed the rally while singing bhajans in various temples. Every individual present in the temple seemed to be enchanted by the chants of ‘Jai Shriram’ and the sound of shankha (conch shell). The atmosphere everywhere was devotional. Mr Umang Mehta later said that every devotee felt that Shriram had arrived in the Houston.
