Police bust illegal weapon peddling gang in Amravati

Amravati (Maharashtra) – The Crime branch of police intercepted a gang involved in selling weapons to criminals in the city. They have seized 102 knives and daggers along with locally made pistols. There is a possibility of further weapons being seized in this case. The accused individuals who have been apprehended are Akram Khan (19 years) alias Guddu, Son of Badulla Khan, Fardeen Khan Yusuf Khan (21 years) , Mujammil Khan Jafar Khan (21 years), Sheikh Sufiyan Mohammed Ashfaq (19 years), Abdul Sohel Abdul Shafi (19 years), and Jahed Shah Hamid Shah (20 years).

It has come to light that the members of the weapon-selling gang are creating terror among the citizens by carrying lethal knives. The crime branch set a trap and arrested Abdul Sohail. They seized one dagger and two Chinese knives from him during the arrest.

During the interrogation, he revealed the names of other members along with the gang leader. Based on this information, the gang leader Akram Khan alias Guddu, Fardeen Khan, Mujammil Khan, Sheikh Sufiyan and Jahed Shah have also been arrested and subjected to thorough police interrogation.

Interrogation has unveiled that the accused individuals were procuring weapons from Mumbai and selling them to the criminals in the city. During the interrogation, the accused provided crucial information about many criminals possessing weapons in the city. This hints at the possibility of more weapon confiscations.
