11.6% increase in sudden deaths post Corona pandemic

Analysis of National Crime Record Bureau’s 2022 statistics

45% reduction in crimes, but 24% increase in Cybercrimes

New Delhi – There has been an 11.6% increase in sudden death in the post-Corona pandemic period of 2021-2022. Though there has been a reduction in the overall percentage of crimes in the country, there has been an increase in the crimes against women and children. In 2022, 58,24,953 crimes have been reported. As against the 60,96,310 reported in the year 2021. This is 4.5% less is the information given by the ‘National Crime Record Bureau’.

Other statistics in the report

1. In 2022, there were 65,983 cybercrimes. This is an increase of 24% over that of 2021. In 2021 there were 52,974 cybercrimes. This showed an increase of 11.8% over that of crimes committed in 2020.

2. A 9.3% increase in crimes against senior citizens.

3. In the country, there have been reported 51 crimes against women every hour. 4.45 lakh crimes against women were reported in 2022. This is an increase of 4% compared to the statistics of 2021. Of this, 19.2 % are kidnapping cases and 7% are atrocities cases. Out of 31,516 total cases of atrocities, Rajasthan has the most cases which is 5,399. (It would not be wrong if someone says that the people of Rajasthan have rejected the Congress party due to the deteriorating law and order situation in Rajasthan. – Editor)

4.2% increase in suicides

There has been an increase of 4.2% in suicides. 13,000 students have committed suicide in 2022. The main reason for this, it is said, is failure in exams. And the most was reported from Maharashtra, that is, 378 students committed suicide.
