In the name of modernity, we want to teach children French, Italian; but not Divine Sanskrut

Actress Isha Talwar

Mumbai – We have forgotten teaching, reading Sanskrut. We have modernised ourselves so much that we wish to teach French, Italian to our children but not the Divine language Sanskrut, opined the actress Isha Talwar in an interview with a daily.

Sanskrut language helps in understanding other languages

Isha Talwar said further that she felt that Sanskrut knowledge helped to understand the other languages. They need to think in the same language in which they act. While acting in a Hindi film, if the actress starts thinking in English, the emotions on her face would match the same. Hence, she said that they (Actors) needed to learn the language of the film in which they acted.

Every actor should learn Sanskrut

Talwar said that she studied in convent, but learnt Sanskrut privately. A lady teacher from Pune taught her Shrimadbhagwadgeeta in Sanskrut. She has been reciting the Geeta regularly for the last 12 years. No doubt, Sanskrut is a Divine language; it was also important scientifically. Geeta- recitation keeps the mind always calm. It was her experience that every actor should know Sanskrut to the extent that their pronunciation becomes appropriate.

Editorial perspective

It would be interesting to see how many Hindu actresses think like this.
