New York, US – In the last 2 years, there has been a sharp increase of over 40% in hate crimes and attacks against Indians in the US. In the last month, 4 Indians have died and many others have been injured due to racist attacks. It has recently come to light that an old man was murdered in New York. At the same time, an Indian student was stabbed.
According to the Carnegie Endowment study, 1 in every 2 Indians admits to being discriminated against on the basis of race. Recently, a 23-year-old Indian girl named Janhvi was beaten up by white Policemen. They had shamelessly joked to her about compensation.
The reason behind the attacks on Indians is that white fundamentalists in the US hate Indians. They claim that Indians are taking away their economic opportunities.
The average income of Indians in the US is around $1,00,000 (Rs 8.32 crore) per year, whereas that of Americans is just $75,000. The CEOs of over 60 companies listed on America’s Fortune 500 are Indians. Hence, Americans cannot tolerate the progress made by Indians.
