Tel Aviv (Israel) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israel-Hamas war has now entered the second stage. He added that additional Israeli forces have reached Gaza and they will destroy the terrorists by all three means – land, air and sea. The war against Hamas is Israel’s second war of independence and we will be the victors.

Netanyahu added,

1. I met Israeli families of those held captive by Hamas and those killed in the war. Abducting people is a crime against humanity. Our Government will exhaust every possibility to bring our brothers and sisters back.

2. This conflict would be long and difficult. Israel’s Army will fight and defend the homeland.

3. There are moments in which a nation faces two possibilities – To do or die. We now face that test and I have no doubt how it will end – We will be the victors.

4. The decision to expand the ground assault into Gaza was taken unanimously by the War Cabinet and Security Cabinet. We did this in a balanced and considered way, based on a commitment to ensure both the destiny of the state and the security of our soldiers.
