Bhopal (MP) – “The country should run on the basis of Indian Constitution. If Prime Minister and Chief Minister (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) who are occupying posts by taking oath of the Constitution, are talking about Hindu Rashtra, then they should resign”, said Digvijay Singh, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking to the question of reporters whether Bajrang Dal will be banned, Singh said, “Bajrang Dal will not be banned because there are some good people in it but those who incite riots will not be spared”.

On 15th August, at a programme held in Hubballi, Karnataka, Singh had said, “there is no such thing as ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ Hindutva. The author of ‘Hindutva’ is freedom fighter Savarkar. Hindutva has nothing to do with Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma”. (Digvijay Singh’s amazing discovery – Editor)

Editorial Viewpoints

  • Such statements by Digvijay Singh, who called notorious terrorist Osama Bin Laden ‘Osama ji’ and shed tears for terrorists like Yakub Memon, are not at all surprising.
  • Congress did not let India become a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ when the Constitution of India was being written. If someone tries to correct that mistake today, then those full of Hindu-hatred will obviously become restless.
