Kudalwadi in Pimpri (Dist Pune) becomes a hub of terrorists

Investigation agencies as well as Intelligence agencies keep a close watch on the area

Pimpri (Dist Pune) – The Police recently picked up a suspect in the German Bakery blast case from the Kudalwadi area in Chikhali. Since then the Police are keeping a close watch on this area. As the number of migrants from a specific part of the country is increasing in Kudalwadi, this area is being closely monitored by the local Police as well as the Investigation agencies across the country. The activities and arrests that happened in the past in Pune city have links to Kudalwadi and hence, the Police have to keep a special eye on this area. This area has always been under the surveillance of Investigation agencies as well as Intelligence agencies.

Kudalwadi is a part of Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial city. Chakan and Talegaon-Dabhade MIDC areas are adjacent to Kudalwadi. Several small and big industries are present in the city. Though it is a part of the Municipal Corporation, the rentals in this area are comparatively cheaper due to its distance from the city centre. This is the reason why criminals prefer to live here. Locals rent out their apartments without adequate inquiry from the tenants. Criminals are taking advantage of this.

Links with the terrorists

The Police investigation has revealed that the accused in the chain bomb blasts in Pune’s Jungli Maharaj Road are living near Kasarwadi railway station. They made the bombs at the same location. A few years ago, the investigation agencies questioned a person from Pimpri Chowk due to his alleged relationship with the Mumbai and Gujarat bomb blast accused. Similarly, investigation agencies have questioned two people from Pimpri-Chinchwad due to suspicion of involvement in anti-social activities.
