Muslims go on a rampage over a social media post right in front of the Police Station

Bhopal – Muslims in Sironj, Dist. Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh went on a rampage right in front of the Police Station saying their religious sentiments were hurt over a social media post. They demanded action against Brijesh Yadav, who created the said offensive post on Facebook on 20th July. The Police had asked Yadav to delete the post and he promptly adhered. The Police also registered an FIR and started the investigation. Despite this, the Muslims gathered outside the Police Station the next day and demanded to ‘run a bulldozer on Yadav’s house’. The Police told the mob that the investigation was underway, but it could not appease the mob. The mob alleged that the Police let Yadav go without acting against him. Realising that the mob was turning violent, the Police lathi-charged the mob to control the situation.

Editorial Viewpoint

It has been observed time and again that Muslims take the law into their own hands when their religious sentiments are allegedly hurt. The Government must create a fear of the law among such people.
