Sangamner (Dist Ahilyanagar) – A ploy to kidnap a college girl was foiled due to the alertness exhibited by citizens. Police have arrested two religious fanatics, Akram Shahabuddin Sheikh and Mohammad Nematullah Mohammad Kaisar who are from the Darbhanga District of Bihar. This young woman got introduced to Akram two years ago while playing the online video game PUBG. He had come to Malpani Resort at Sangamner along with his friend Mohammad Nematullah Mohammad Kaisar. On meeting this woman, Akram asked her to go to Bihar with him where he promised to marry her, but the girl refused. Akram and Nematullah became aggressive and insisted that she would have to go with them, or else, they would go to her home and defame her. The woman was frightened, and she raised an alarm for help. Her shouting alerted the citizens from the area, they got hold of both the accused and handed them over to the Police. The Police registered a case against both, based on the complaint lodged by the young woman, and arrested them.

Though it is a ‘Love Jihad’ case, rebuttal by the Police !

Police are investigating the purpose of the accused going to Sangamner from Bihar and if there were any accomplices with them, etc. Police have taken the matter seriously since there have been discussions about cases of ‘Love Jihad’ in the city; however, Mr Somnath Waghchaure, the sub-divisional Police Officer asserted in the press conference that it was not a case of ‘Love Jihad’. (Many cases of ‘Love Jihad’ have been reported in other cities in Ahilyanagar District; still, the Police always try to confute or outwit Hindus. How can such Police protect Hindu girls and young women from ‘Love Jihad’ ? – Editor)

Editorial Viewpoint

Hindu young woman’s falling prey to ‘Love Jihad’ is due to lack of education on Dharma. The end of every ‘Love Jihad’ case is always the rape of the concerned Hindu young woman and her conversion. In this case, too, had she been kidnapped, she would have met a similar fate, but it is infuriating that the Police are not ready to accept it.
