Saharanpur (UP) – Maulana Arshad Madani, the Chief of Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind, has criticised the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) while speaking to a news channel. He claimed that the UCC deprives Muslims of freedom.

1. Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of India. He is not my enemy. I would meet him 10 times if he invited me. Muslims can vote for the BJP in the next general elections, provided the BJP changes its policies.
2. In the recent Karnataka assembly elections, 95% to 100% of Muslims voted for the Congress party. Now, the Congress must fulfil its poll promise of banning the Bajrang Dal. If they do not do so, Muslims would never believe any future poll promise of the Congress.
3. Jamiat always had good relations with the Congress party. From Dr Manmohan Singh to Sonia Gandhi, all the Congress leaders listened to Jamiat’s leaders. (It has been proven time and again that the Congress party dances to the tune of Muslims all the time. How can such a party do any good for the country ? – Editor)
