Terror spread by 7,000 stray street dogs

Jalna (Maharashtra) – The stray dogs fearless roam the city streets and attack vehicles and their drivers. They attack pedestrians and schoolchildren as they walk the city streets. The municipality budgets lakhs of rupees every year for the sterilization of dogs. But in the past few years, no neutering of the animals has been done. The number of open mutton shops on the street increases the number of stray dogs roaming freely on the city streets.

Terror of 7,000 stray dogs in Jalna having a population of 4 lakh

The District hospital has records that state that in the past 3 years, 5,475 people have been bitten by stray dogs.

The problem of dogs was discussed numerous times in the municipality, but actually it was not solved.

In the current year Rs 10 lakh has been budgeted for the sterilization of the dogs. In the next 4 months, tenders will be called for the sterilization of dogs.

As no action has been taken against stray dogs despite numerous petitions, there is a stray dog menace in Kanchan Nagar, Shiv Nagar, and Nutan Colony. Their number is increasing because of meat selling in open shops on the streets. Street dogs have been known to have bitten small children. So, agitation will soon be held in this matter.
