55 supporters of PFI detained by ATS

Meerut (UP) – Anti-terrorism squad of Uttar Pradesh launched raids in 30 Districts of the State and detained 55 supporters of the banned jihadi outfit the ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI). Samajwadi Party leader Abdul Khaliq Ansari has also been arrested in Meerut. He is Samajwadi party’s Bulandshahar President.

1. The Anti-Terrorist Squad has conducted raids at Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Saharanpur, Ghaziabad , along with the other cities.

2. Earlier on 24th April, the National Investigation Agency had conducted such raids in 4 States. At that time PFI jihadi leaders and activists were arrested. Action is now being taken against those whose names emerged during the investigation of these PFI leaders.

3. After the arrest of the head of PFI, grassroots leaders and activists of this organisation are coming together secretly. They are trying to rebuild the organisation once again.
