Religious fanatic arrested in connection with the murder of BJP leader Praveen Nettaru to contest election

Mangaluru (Karnataka) – Social Democratic Party of India (SDPl) leader Shafi Bellare, who was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the murder of BJP worker Praveen Nettaru, has filed nomination form from Puttur constituency. Assembly elections are going to be held in Karnataka. The activists held a procession while filing his application form. They also raised slogans in the name of Shafi Bellare.

In India everyone has a right to contest elections hence, this cannot be challenged. However, people should put pressure on the Government to amend such laws.

Speaking to the reporters, SDPI District Secretary, Anwar Sadat said, “to suppress the voice of Shafi Bellare, the Government has lodged a false case against him and put him in jail. The truth will be revealed in the future. People are angry due to the fake case lodged against Shafi Bellare. Now they are going to answer the Government through the votes”.
