Hindu Students in Britain’s Schools are being threatened and asked to convert to Islam by Muslim Students !

Riots at Leicester

London (Britain) – In Britain’s schools Hindu students are being bullied by Muslim students. The survey found that Hindu students were told that if they convert to Islam, their life will become so much easier. Henry Jackson Society conducted this survey. Charlotte Littlewood conducted this study by surveying more than 1,000 British schools and speaking with 988 Hindu parents. The study found that “51% of Hindu parents surveyed reported that their child had experienced Hinduphobia in schools, while less than 1% of schools surveyed reported any anti-Hindu related incidents in the last 5 years”.  Hinduism is the third-largest religion In Britain. More than 10 lakh Hindus live in Britain. The report says that very little information about the Hindu religion is taught in its schools.  In the religious education taught in schools, the Hindu religion is denigrated. Hence, Hindu parents are criticizing British schools.

Hindus are being targeted in Leicester and Birmingham.  After the September 2022 anti-Hindu riots in Leicester, the Police arrested 55 fanatic Muslims. They were charged with crimes of destroying property, and attacking Hindu Temples and Hindus. There is a similarity between the discrimination faced by Hindu students and the incidents of violence against Hindus in Leicester.

This is how Hindu Students are harassed !

1. Beef is used to insult the Hindus and they are made fun of for being vegetarian. Hindus’ Deities are denigrated. In a school, beef was thrown at a Hindu student by her classmates.

2. The Hindu students are harassed and victimised alleging that Muslims are discriminated against in India. Hindu students are insulted by calling them ‘Kafirs’.  They are threatened and told them ‘if they convert to Islam, their life will become so much easier’.

3. A Hindu victim was told by his classmates, “You aren’t going to survive very long… If you want to go to paradise, you’ll have to come to Islam”. And Hindu children were instructed to view Islamic preacher videos and to convert to Islam.

4. The parents said that in 2014 Prime Minister Modi was elected and after the Abolishment of Article 370, Britain’s Muslim students began to ask the Hindu Students ‘Why do you break our mosques ? And why do you attack us ?’ They encourage Hindu students to watch Zakir Naik’s videos and convert to Islam.

5. The think tank claimed that misconceptions about the worship of Deities and inappropriate references to the Indian caste system in religious education “fostered discrimination” and Hinduphobia towards Hindus, which students felt made “a mockery of them”.

6. British children address the Hindu students as ‘Pakis’. Anti-Hindu abuses are considered normal in British schools.

7. There are only 1% of schools that have noticed the harassment and persecution faced by the Hindu students in their schools.

  • It is very serious that not just in Muslim countries but also in a liberal and broadminded country like Britain Hindus have to endure such atrocities from fanatical Muslims. It is necessary that the Hindu Organisations around the world and the Indian Government raise their voices against these incidents.
