Airstrikes on a crowd in Myanmar village killed 100 people

Pazigyi (Myanmar) – The military is increasingly using airstrikes to counter a widespread armed struggle against its rule, which began in February 2021 when it seized power from the elected Government of Aung San Suu Kyi. More than 3,000 civilians are estimated to have been killed since then by security forces. The Military airstrike of 20 minutes duration took place on 11th April killing 100 people.

A witness told The Associated Press that a fighter jet dropped bombs directly into a crowd of people who had gathered at 8 a.m. for the opening of a local office of ‘Peoples Defence Forces’ (PDF) the country’s opposition movement, outside Pazigyi village in Sagaing region’s Kanbalu township.  More than 300 people were there during the attack.

United  Nations have condemned the military attack. Volker Türk, the current United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said that the news of the attack was heart breaking. When the helicopter dropped the bombs that time the school children were dancing in a hall.
