New Delhi – British Foreign Minister James Cleverly has arrived in India to attend the G-20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting. The Foreign Minister of India, Dr S Jaishankar, held a bilateral meeting with him at this time. Cleverly brought up the Income Tax Department’s raids on the BBC’s Delhi and Mumbai offices during this meeting. Dr S Jaishankar firmly responded Cleverly, ‘All entities operating in India must comply with the laws of the land. Be it any organisation then’.

The British Government had earlier said it was closely monitoring the survey of tax officials in India at the BBC offices.
