Organisation of Islamic Countries Secretary General on tour of Pakistan-occupied (PoK) Kashmir

India reprimanded the Organisation of Islamic Countries

New Delhi – India has once again reprimanded the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an organisation of Islamic Countries. Following several speeches about Kashmir on various platforms, the General Secretary of this organisation is on a tour of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. India’s Ministry of External Affairs condemned this action by the OIC.

1. In a statement issued by Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs he said, “We strongly condemn the visit of OIC Secretary General to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and his comments on J&K during his visit to Pakistan. Let me reiterate that OIC has no locus standi in matters related to J&K, which is an integral and inalienable part of India. Any attempt of interference and meddling in India’s internal affairs by OIC and its Secretary General is completely unacceptable. OIC has already lost its credibility by taking a blatantly communal, partisan and factually incorrect approach to issues. Its Secretary-General has unfortunately become a mouthpiece of Pakistan. We hope that he would refrain from becoming a partner in carrying out the nefarious agenda of Pakistan of promoting cross-border terrorism into India, especially in J&K.”

2. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Countries, said the Kashmir dispute is a top priority on the OIC’s agenda after visiting Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Organisation of Islamic Countries is looking for a way of dialogue between India and Pakistan so that the Kashmir dispute can be resolved.

3. Brahim Taha said, the Kashmir dispute is a political issue that cannot be discussed standing on the street; that is why we need the support of other countries, organisations on this issue.

Editorial viewpoint

Islamic countries are currently facing many problems. Instead of addressing them, OIC is interfering and meddling in Kashmir issue. Therefore, Indian should reprimand them strongly.
