Dr Vijay Jangam (Executive President of All-India Veershaiva Lingayat Mahasangh) demands
Mumbai (11th November) – “Every year, we pay homage to soldiers, Police and citizens who sacrificed their lives in the terrorist attack of 26th November 2008. If we want to pay true homage, the Government should ban Halal Certification all over the country. Else, Akhil Bharatiya Veershaiva Lingayat Mahasangh will start issuing ‘Trishul’ Certificates to all Hindu manufacturers”, declared Dr Vijay Jangam (Swami), Executive President of the Mahasangh in a press conference held on 11th November at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh. He also said that the first such Certificate will be issued for his own products.
Dr Jangam added, “Halal Certification is being forced on others by creating fear that people of a certain community will boycott every product in the absence of a Halal Certificate”.
The legal advisor of the Mahasangh, Advocate Ashish Anand, Mr Sunil Ghanwat (State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh), and Mr Sagar Chopdar (Secretary of ‘Halal Saktivirodhi Samiti [HSVS]) were also present for the press conference.
Advocate Ashish Anand said that as per the Constitution, except for Muslims, consumers of other religions cannot be forced to use Halal products.
ED should conduct an inquiry into organisations that issue Halal Certificates ! : Mr Sunil Ghanwat
We have given information to the Mumbai Police about organisations which issue Halal Certificates in India, provide financial assistance to fight legal cases for the accused involved in terrorist activities. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) should now conduct an inquiry. Halal-certified products are sold in Islamic countries; but the population of Muslims is less in India, then why should there be any compulsion for Halal Certification in India ? Why should Hindus in India buy Halal products ?
Agitations will continue till the compulsion for Halal Certification is stopped ! : Mr Sagar Chopdar
So far, 42 meetings have been organised by HSVS to oppose the compulsion of Halal Certification in India. The movement against Halal Certification is getting support from all Hindus in the State. Halal Certification is not limited to meat, but has been made compulsory for other products such as medicines, cosmetics too. Though the Conference on Halal Certification which was supposed to be held in Mumbai has been cancelled owing to the campaign started by ‘Halal Saktivirodhi Samiti’, our agitations will continue till the compulsion for Halal Certification is stopped.

Hyderabad (Telangana) – Anti-India and anti-Hindu stand-up comedian Vir Das’ show in Hyderabad which was scheduled for 20th November at Shilpakala Vedika was cancelled due to the organised opposition from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other devout Hindu organisations for making derogatory comments against India, the local English newspaper ‘The Hans India’ reported.
Earlier, Vir Das’ show on 10th November in Bengaluru had also been cancelled. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had filed a complaint against Das with Police Station against this show with the help of various devout Hindu organisations.
Anti-India statements of Vir Das in Washington
- I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night.
- I come from an India where people pride themselves in being vegetarians but will run over the farmers who grow the vegetables.
