Mumbai – On the 28th of October 2022, a joint national security conference was held at Hotel Taj in Mumbai where there was a terrorist attack on 26/11. The conference started by paying homage to the victims of the 26/11 terrorist attack. The accused of this attack have been provided finance to fight their legal cases in Court by ‘Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Halal Trust’, an organisation which issues ‘halal’ certificates. Dr S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs stated that the funds provided to terrorists are the root cause of terrorist activities. In this background, the financial aid provided to the accused of terrorist activities is a serious matter. This news was published on ‘OpIndia’ news portal on the 19th of February 2022, along with a few references. Patriotic citizens of this country are wondering whether an inquiry will be conducted into ‘Jamiat Ulema -e- Hind’.
1. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind’ is one of the Islamic organisations which issues Halal Certificates in India. This organisation has not only helped to get legal aid for the accused of the 26/11 terrorist attacks but also for the accused involved in many other terrorist attacks carried out in this country such as the railway bomb blast in Mumbai on 7th November 2006, the Malegaon bomb blasts of 2006, a bomb blast in Jama Masjid of Delhi, serial bomb blasts in Zaveri Bazar in Mumbai, German Bakery (Pune) bomb blast, bomb blasts at Karnavati (Ahmedabad), etc.
2. Even more serious matter is that ‘Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind’ is providing financial aid for cases of 700 accused related to various terrorist organisations viz. ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’, Indian Mujahideen, Islamic State, etc.
3. Fighting a legal case for an innocent person can be understood but considering all 700 Muslim accused, found guilty in police investigations, as innocent and fighting their legal cases is a matter that requires investigating by our national investigating agencies.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind’ also fighting a case for the person who threatened the Central Home Minister !
In December 2019, Siddiqullah Chowdhury, a regional president of this organisation for Bengal, threatened the union Home Minister of not allowing him to come out of Kolkata airport while opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). This organisation is providing funds to fight a case even against the killers of a devout Hindu from Uttar Pradesh viz Kamalesh Tiwari, the news about which was published on the website of the English daily newspaper ‘The Indian Express’ on the 26th of October 2019.
