BJP demands to rename Jinnah Tower Centre in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh

BJP leaders taken into custody

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) – BJP held a protest demanding to rename the ‘Jinnah Tower Centre’ at Guntur after former President and scientist APJ Kalam after which the Police took the BJP leaders into custody. BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Narasimha Rao tweeted, “are we in Andhra Pradesh or Pakistan?”. BJP State president Somu Veerraju said that only our party is demanding the change of name.

(Does this mean the other parties are Jinnah supporters ? This is an example of how low the political parties have stooped to flatter the religious fanatics. It is disappointing that people vote for such parties and bring them to power. – Editor)

Editorial Viewpoints

  • It is a shame that keeping the name of Jinnah, who was responsible for the partition of the country and the massacre of one million Hindus, is okay in this country.
  • There is Israel, which seeks out every Hitler supporter who oppressed Jews, and kills them. And here in India, we name a tower after a person who massacred Hindus.
