Dr. Deepak Gupta informed that the woman is a resident of the Shahdara area of Delhi. There were multiple tumours in her brain which were successfully removed through the surgery. She was given local anaesthesia for scalp block and painkillers. An imaging technique Tractography was used to colour code her nerve tracts during the operation. This type of technique is used for brain surgery to minimise loss to the brain nerves. The patient is kept awake to ensure that critical areas of his/her brain are not damaged. Dr. Gupta said reciting Shri Hanuman Chalisa or any other religious worship certainly benefits in such cases.
