Complaint registered against two missionaries for trying to force a 7-year-old to convert to Christianity

Such incidents of forceful conversions are increasing day by day in Erode, Tamil Nadu

Anti-conversion law is necessary to control such incidents

Considering the rampant conversions in the State, unity among Hindus is the need of the hour

Modakurichi (Tamil Nadu) – A compliant has been registered against two missionaries – Usha Rani and Virginia for forcing a 7-year-old girl to convert to Christianity. This girl was summoned by the Church with an obvious motive to get her converted eventually. Consequently, she was frightened by these (two) missionaries by declaring that her parents would die of sickness and would fall prey to ghosts if she did not oblige. She discussed the whole situation with her parents as she was put under pressure to accept the proposal. Subsequently, her parents filed a formal complaint in the Police Station with the help of Hindu Munnani (a religious and cultural organisation).

The schools in Tamil Nadu are increasingly becoming conversion hotspots

School headmistress suspended for an attempt to convert the students to Christianity

Back in October of last year, a complaint had been filed against a Headmistress and a teacher of a Government school in the same constituency for an alleged attempt of conversion. (The future looks decidedly bleak for the Hindu pupils where the headmistress is actively engaged in religious conversions – Editor.) During the subsequent enquiry undertaken by the DEO (District Educational Office), religious books, CDs and posters along with toys for enticing the kids were seized from the offices of these teachers. The departmental enquiry found them guilty and as a result, action was taken against them. Members of Hindu Munani and local leaders of BJP took the initiative to bring this incident to light.
