Hindus expect that the VHP should interact with the rulers that are in power in the BJP-ruled states and make efforts to free temples from Government control. However, in States, which are ruled by anti-Hindu parties, there is no other alternative but to unite Hindus effectively and launch a protest movement.

New Delhi – “The assurance that is given by Uttarkhand Government to free the Chardham and 51 major temples from the Government control is very praiseworthy. Other States also should take such a decision immediately. Else, Vishva Hindu Parishad is prepared to undertake a nationwide movement to free temples from the Government control”. Said the VHP National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal.
Swami Dr. Shyamdevacharya Maharaj, Regional Head Guide of VHP said, “Attackers have vandalised our temples which are representative of our Sanatan traditions. Now, the Government is trying to acquire control over these temples and destroy Sanatan culture. We will not let this happen. Local people and priests belonging to the Sanatan community and not the Government has rights over temples.
