Bengaluru (Karnataka) – The Karnataka High Court has said that the Karnataka Government’s ordinance related to the ban on cow-slaughter is ‘constitutionally-valid’. This judgement has cleared the obstacles in implementing the ban. As per the ordinance, a person who engages in cow-slaughter can be fined from Rs. 50,000 to 1 lakh, and be imprisoned for 3 to 7 years.
BJP Government of Karnataka to withdraw cases against cow-protectors
This is a praiseworthy decision of the BJP Government ! Similar decisions should be taken in all the BJP-ruled States !
Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Prabhu Chauhan informed the media that the BJP Government of Karnataka has decided to withdraw the cases registered against the cow-protectors. Since the Karnataka Prevention of Cow-slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 1964 is in place, such a decision has been taken. He also assured that the cases registered against Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists will also be withdrawn.
