New Delhi – Lethbridge University from Canada has claimed that some cannabis extracts may reduce the risk of dying of the patients from the most dangerous age group and of those who are suffering under chronic illness. The research suggests that consumption of cannabis is helpful in boosting the immune system. Medicines with the extract of cannabis can be used against covid-19 as well as in other severe diseases.
A group of scientists from this University claim that ‘cytokine storm’ process starts if the immune system in the human beings is malfunctioning. This is a process whereby the immune system goes haywire and attacks healthy tissue instead of just the virus. This leads to death in covid-19 patients and the patients with other severe diseases.

The extract of the cannabis leafs can stop the cytokine storm. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a) are the molecules which cause cytokine storm. Cannabis extract is able to reduce the proportion of these molecules itself from the human body.
