Mr. Nagesh Gade, Group Editor

For the first time in the history of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, the Anniversary is being held in adverse times. Coronavirus has changed the standard of life. In addition, a series of crises such as hurricanes, locust-raids and instability on the border have been going on. In such times, the media has become a link between the Government and people. The media played a major role in conveying the Government’s message to the people, creating seriousness about the crisis among them and presenting the plight of the people in various situations. The feature of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ is that it has been creating awareness on such crises for many years now.

Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale, Founder-Editor of Sanatan Prabhat Periodicals and many other Saints have created awareness about the coming adverse times. Last year, ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ had published enlightening articles of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale on how to deal with the adverse times. This year’s series of crises prove the vision of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale. Last Anniversary, we had published an editorial on the coming adverse times. That editorial fits perfectly in today’s context; it is the result of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale’s teachings ! Let’s read below an excerpt of that article and the current situation. – Mr. Nagesh Gade, Group Editor,

Achieving the goal of establishing the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ is not as easy as verbally promoting the word ‘Hindutva’ by using just a saffron colour. The concept of ‘Hindu Rashtra’ is expected to uplift the Nation at all levels. That also includes journalism. Currently, we are witnessing a time of social conflict and instability. The world situation is such today, that World War 3 may break out any day.

When a major event takes place in the Nation or war breaks out, there are certain criteria on how responsibly the media should behave. No one exposes the failure of the Government through exaggerated news in many media outlets around the world, showing how much the people in the Nation are suffering. Even in times of war, threats to the country’s security under the guise of ‘sensational news’ are not done abroad.

Indian journalism, however, has undermined all these values. Even in such a situation, ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ does not sensationalise. Our priority is not only security, but also taking timely preventive measures. From this perspective, the guidance of Saints, views and articles of various writers are also published in ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ from time to time. It has been founded by a visionary Saint like Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale; it is not only been publishing news from the very start, but has taken on the role of national rejuvenation.

We have been frequently publishing matter on how to survive during the adverse times. Remembering the words of Shrikrushna, ‘Na me bhakta: pranashyati’ (My devotees are not destroyed), society is also being guided on the spiritual practice through. ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ has created awareness on many issues. With all this, the next direction of its mission will be to warn the readers of the coming adverse times, to inform of the measures required to survive the adverse times and to protect the lives of maximum people.

‘Sanatan Prabhat’ Group of Periodicals will play a major role in the mission of protecting society during World War 3 and the adverse times. We do not look at such incidents from a shallow perspective to increase readership, but to show the world the vision of profound and proactive journalism.

The reality of 2020

The coronavirus pandemic has paralysed the country for more than nine months now. Even so, various measures to combat this pandemic are being published continuously in ‘Sanatan Prabhat’. Many readers have told us that Autosuggestions to boost morale, chanting useful in boosting self-confidence in these times, thoughts of experts in the field to stay fit physically and guidance of Saints were very helpful. “I am happy to read that this newspaper gives positive news even in times of crisis”, wrote one well-known personality.

We were unable to reach the readers in many areas due to the lockdown. Even so, we tried our best to reach wherever possible. The flow of advertisements also reduced in this period. In such a situation, we have been publishing our newspaper for the past 9 months despite suffering financial loss, with only public interest in mind.

Our distributors continued distributing uninterruptedly even during the coronavirus outbreak. This service done by the seekers after following all rules of the Government and accepting all risks while moving in society during the pandemic is certainly commendable. Where readers could not be delivered the newspaper, it was made available as PDF files, which could be opened on a computer or mobile.

‘The common man felt support in times of crisis’, is a big compliment for a newspaper ! As many Saints have said, this is just a glimpse of the coming adverse times. We will remain active for the upliftment of society with God’s grace and the blessings of Saints, not only in the coronavirus times, but also during the adverse times. Staying active in times of crisis is certainly not easy; but, we are certain that our readers will also help us in the struggle to see the auspicious dawn of ‘Hindu Rashtra’, taking us toward good governance !
