Won’t let anyone harm Saints in Maharashtra : Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister

Dehu (Pune, Maharashtra) – ‘Maharashtra is the land of Saints. I give my word that not even a hair of the Saints will be harmed in Maharashtra. It is our collective responsibility to protect the Dharma. Likewise, it is also our duty to protect the rivers Indrayani, Chandrabhaga, and Godavari’, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said in an event. Shinde was honoured with the ‘Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj’ award during the event. The special award was conferred upon him on the occasion of the 375thTukaram Beej celebrations.

Speaking further, the Deputy Chief Minister said, ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was guided and blessed by Sant Tukaram. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had visited Sant Tukaram in the sacred land of Dehu. The compositions of Sant Tukaram provide commentary on life. The significance of these compositions will not fade away, not just for the next 375 years, but even for the next 3,375 years’. Lakhs of Warkaris (devotees) have gathered in Dehu for the Tukaram Beej celebrations. In recognition of Eknath Shinde’s special efforts in providing services and facilities for Warkaris during the Pandharpur Wari pilgrimage, as well as his contribution to the ‘Nirmal Wari, Harit Wari’ (Clean Wari, Green Wari) initiative, DehuSansthan has conferred this award upon him.
