Warning by former Jejuri mayor Veena Sonawane

Jejuri (Pune) – The name of Malhar, Maharashtra’s ancestral deity, is being misused for the ‘Malhar Jhakta Mutton’ scheme. We express our strong opposition to the use of the name ‘Malhar’ in this context.Veena Sonawane, ex-Mayor of Jejuri, has warned the government that if the name is not changed, she will take the people of Jejuri with her and lead a significant protest in due course.
Veena Sonawane further added,
1. It is not right for some trustees of the Martand Devsansthan Samiti to support the name ‘Malhar’. We will file a complaint in court against this.
2. The Martand Devsansthan Samiti, as a religious institution, should refrain from engaging in political activities. (Veena Sonawane must recognize that opposing Halal and defending Hindus from it is not politics, but a necessary action to safeguard religion ! – Editor)
3. The construction of a devotee’s residence on the hospital site should be avoided. Instead, the temple should focus on building a hospital at that location.
4. Sonawane also claimed that decisions are being made without consulting the priests and villagers who are responsible for upholding the religious rituals, customs, and traditions at the fort.
Editorial PerspectiveIs this opposition merely for the sake of opposition; as it stems from the original intent of this plan to counter halal jihad ? |
