Principal performs sit-ups as students show no improvement

The principal, Chinta Raman, performed sit-ups in front of students

Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) – In a surprising incident from Andhra Pradesh, a principal punished himself instead of reprimanding students after noticing no improvement in their performance despite his teaching efforts. This incident took place at a Jilla Parishad school in Vijayanagaram. The principal, Chinta Raman, frustrated by the students’ poor performance, performed sit-ups in front of them, saying, “I must have fallen short in teaching them.” A video of this incident has now gone viral on social media.

The principal performed 50 sit-ups while holding his ears in front of the students. As he continued, students exchanged puzzled glances, and some even pleaded, “Please don’t do this”. However, the principal ignored their requests and carried on. His actions left the hundreds of students’ present feeling deeply embarrassed.

Editorial Perspective

Teaching students is a teacher’s responsibility. If students do not show the expected progress, the teacher should reflect on their approach, identify shortcomings, and make necessary improvements in their teaching methods. Punishing oneself will not solve the problem; instead, it may raise doubts about the teacher’s ability to fulfil their duties effectively.
