Gadag (Karnataka) – Hashimsaab Aksharsaab Kazi, a resident of Nargund in Gadag district of Karnataka state has been convicted and sentenced to two months of imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 for posting derogatory content on a picture of the Ram temple on social media. On October 26, 2018, Hashim Saab Kazi posted posts on social media by writing objectionable content in Hindi and English on the picture of Ram temple. Taking this seriously, the police registered a case against the accused under Section 295 of the Indian Penal Code and filed a charge sheet in the court. Justice Jinnappa Chowgla, after hearing arguments, sentenced the accused on February 18.
