Former cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra’s question on the film ‘Chhava’
Mumbai – I watched the film ‘Chhawa’. The bravery and unparalleled prowess, the selfless attitude that was seen while showing duty towards the country, have raised some questions for me. Why was the history of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj not taught to us in school?, famous former cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has asked this question in a post on X.
Watched Chhaava today. Incredible tale of bravery, selflessness and the sense of duty.
Genuine question—why were we not taught about Chattrapati Sambhaji Maharaj at all in school? Not even a mention anywhere!!!

We were taught ‘how great Akbar was’
Aakash Chopra further wrote that there is no history of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj; but there is no mention of him anywhere. We were taught how great and just Akbar was. In the capital Delhi, a street is named after Aurangzeb. Why and how did all this happen ?

That is why today, since it is being shown in the film ‘Chhava’, people in the country and abroad are realising it. |
