Tamil Nadu Police prevent Muslims from sacrificing animals on a sacred Hindu hillI

Impact of Hindu resistance

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) – In Tamil Nadu’s Thiruparankundram District, the Police foiled an attempt by Muslims to perform animal sacrifices on the sacred Madurai Hill. This intervention followed the complaints lodged by Hindu organisations. The activists of the Social Democratic Front of India (the political wing of the banned Jihadi organisation Popular Front of India) were planning to carry out the sacrifice. (This incident highlights the need to ban this political party as well – Editor) Madurai Hill is home to the revered Murugan Temple, a significant Hindu pilgrimage site. Within the same premises lies the Sikandar Badusha Dargah, where the sacrifice was planned.

Solai Kannan, the District President of the Hindu Makkal Katchi organisation in Madurai, had informed Commissioner Loganathan about the matter and submitted a formal request to stop the sacrifice. In response, the Police acted swiftly and stopped Muslims from sacrificing goats and chickens. The authorities clarified that only prayers or namaz is permitted at the dargah, and no form of sacrifice is allowed.

Last week, individuals associated with Islamic organisations approached revenue officials and the District administration, seeking permission to perform sacrifices at the Sikandar Badusha Dargah. However, the Madurai District administration only permitted namaz to be offered at the dargah.
Hindu groups assert that the temple on Madurai Hill is one of the six sacred abodes of Deity Murugan. They claim that Muslims are attempting to desecrate the temple and impose an Islamic identity on the site.

BJP State President K Annamalai commented on Instagram that some people are referring to Thiruparankundram Hill as ‘Sikandar Malai (Hill).

Editorial Perspective

It is commendable that the Tamil Nadu Police acted so swiftly for Hindus.
