Demand for immediate removal of tombs obstructing traffic in Ahilyanagar city

Hindus warn of building a Hanuman Temple in front of dargah if no action is taken

Pro-Hindu activists from the city present during the submission of this demand.

Ahilyanagar – Muslim tombs located in the middle of major roads in Ahilyanagar city are causing significant traffic disruptions. Areas like Maliwada, Chitale Road, and Balikashram Road have tombs built in the middle of the roads, creating serious obstacles for commuters. On behalf of the Hindu community, a warning has been issued demanding action within eight days. Failing this, a Hanuman Temple will be built at these sites. Hindutva leader Sagar Beg, along with other community members, submitted a memorandum regarding this matter to Municipal Commissioner Yashwant Dange.

There are no records or documents available to substantiate the existence of these religious structures in the middle of public roads. Hence, a demand has been made to immediately remove these traffic-obstructing tombs. Many pro-Hindu activists from the city were present during the submission of this demand.

The Municipal Corporation acts only against temples : Sagar Beg, Devout Hindu leader

During the meeting, Sagar Beg remarked, “The Municipal Corporation acts only against temples. Even though the temple in Siddharthnagar did not obstruct traffic, it was demolished. Now, the Corporation must act against these unauthorised tombs, or else we will construct temples on the road in front of these tombs.” This warning was conveyed to Municipal Commissioner Yashwant Dange through a memorandum. He further emphasised, “Illegal slaughterhouses in certain areas should also be demolished. The Police have already sent a letter to the Commissioner regarding this, but no action has been taken so far.”

Editorial Perspective

The need for Hindus to issue such warnings is shameful for the administration. It is expected that the administration will act appropriately before Hindutva activists take such steps.
