In a Hindu colony in Muradabad, Hindus protest a Muslim buying a house in the colony

Muradabad (UP) – In a colony here, Dr Bajaj has sold his house to Dr Ikra Chaudhary. The Hindus in the colony are extremely upset and they have staged an agitation. They are saying that out of 450 families living there 1,800 are Hindus. At the time of setting up the colony, a decision had been taken that no one from other religion can register a house here. Despite the condition Dr Bajaj sold his house to a Muslim. It is noteworthy, that Dr Bajaj’s neighbour had offered to buy his house. Despite that he sold his house to a Muslim.

1.The residents are saying, “we have taken the case to the Administration and BJP MLA, hoping to get the registration cancelled. We will pay off the full price of the house but will not allow a person from other religion to buy a house here.

2.Muradabad District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Singh said. “People have complained that a particular person has sold his house to a person of another religion. The citizens had resented it. The Police and the administration have the information of the case. Talks with all the parties are on. We are trying to find a solution which will not disturb the environment. We are in touch with all the concerned people. Currently people are accepting the decision by the administration. I am sure we will find a solution to it as soon as possible.”

In this country, anyone can buy a house anywhere or anyone can sell a house to anyone. However, in the current social scenario, we need to be careful. It should be pondered upon as to what could be the reasons for such protests ?
